Artist's Comments

NOTICE: There’s a lot of information here to explain. At least read some of it before you comment, as this vehicle encompasses several realities, and I’ve taken quite a bit of time to explain it as best I can.

Okay, this one’s gonna take a HELL of a back-story to explain.

Explanation #1: Roots of the design

This, people, is my fighter without a home. I have previously drawn this thing on three separate occasions before this one, each time with a different story. It started out as something for a Star Fox/Star wars Crossover, where it was a predecessor to the Arwing that was based on Incom’s Z-95 Headhunter, a Star Wars expanded universe craft. Second, It became a rebuilt Z-95 sued by the Trianii, a Feline race out on the edge of the Star Wars Galaxy, near the Corporate Sector. My third was a botched paintjob for this version, which belongs to Jim Prower.

Explanation #2: Roots of the Story for this version

Okay, what’s Jim, a fox who wasn’t supposed to have access to this technology, doing with a space-capable fighter?

Well, my friend BlueLone Wolf and I have been building a Canon that’s essentially a nexus between many multiple universes. (Case in point: Blue’s latest contribution has been Gotham City, of DC Comics “Batman” fame.) Jim’s Mobius is connected via portal to this nexus, on Planet Ari. Planet Ari itself is located…and this is wonderfully circular in terms of the Skyline’s design…near the Corporate Sector, In the Star Wars Galaxy. (However, it appears that the planet is listed as “Uninhabited,” as no major effort has been made towards interstellar trade.) Recently, Jim, Blue, and a few their cohorts (Mostly his characters, as I haven’t had any of mine join on adventures until recently) masqueraded as Star Wars Races and romped around the galaxy a bit. Ask BlueLone Wolf (bluelonewolf.deviantart.com) a little more about that.

One more thing you should know…Jim played a Trianii…which did not sit well with a certain important person…

Story #1: From Jim’s Perspective (Note: After Blue’s Star Wars Story)

So, not a month after this little jaunt, someone comes knocking at Jim’s office. A VERY angry, very ornately dressed female Trianii stands before him. She’s asking for a “Karkesh,” the name of the Trianii Jim played. Of course, she knows it was Jim all along. She happens to be Kahara, the Queen of Trian, and she wants to kill Jim for impersonating one of their kind. Here intervenes Blue, who, in a masterful display of diplomacy, not only talks her down from killing Jim, but talks her into letting Jim redesign her rapidly aging fleet of Z-95 Headhunters.

Now, Stay with me, It gets complicated, as we deal with many, many different movies and games at this point.

A few months later, the first Prototype, the one you see here, is ready for its first field test. Now, also at this time, Jim buys what he thinks is a prop from the movie “Back to the Future.” You know, you’d think a DeLorean wouldn’t actually travel time. But Jim’s sent him and Blue 700 years into the future, on Jim’s Mobius. At that time, Mobius is abandoned, and everybody’s headed to this planet called Corneria. (Remember the old Skyfox rule, that 700 years into the future is Star Fox?)

Any-way, after a misadventure, where Jim holds an infant Fox and Blue takes out Wolf’s left eye, Jim and Blue return to the Present, when David Prower (remember him?) comes streaking back from the Future, saying that Fox (now grown) is in grave danger. Jim uses this chance to test the Skyline. Can’t say much more than that.

Story #2: After the test

Afterwards, the design was sold to the Royal Trianii Design Ministry, as promised. Under Trianii ownershim, the fighter became known as the “Kladaww,” though “Skyline” remained as a spotting term.

Technical description

Jim’s version of the Skyline, due to being through the Star Fox reality, is a little different from Trianii “Kladawws.” I have a technical description below. Warning: references to multiple universes. Don’t get confused.

United Defense Mechanics/Incom ZR-95 “Skyline” Prototype
Role: Light interceptor
Crew: 1
Length: 7.8m
Wingspan: 7.5m
Height: 3.1m
Engine and Power system: 2 UDM/Incom FTE1-IRB Fusial Thrust engines rebuilt from originals, with higher thrust rating. Power unit replaced with UDM HCF-223 “Mr. Fusion” Hydrogen Cold Fusion generator. Original Repulsorlifts and shields later replaced with Space Dynamics G-Diffuser ARW-5C antigrav and shield suite. Incom GBz-951 aftermarket Hyperdrive, Class 1
Maximum atmospheric speed: Mach 4.5
Range: 5 days under optimal conditions
Ceiling: None (not atmosphere limited)

Armament:
3-25mm UDM hydrogen plasma-fed liquid-cooled directed energy “Laser” cannons
(Non-original) Space Dynamics ARW-32A “B-Bomb” user-designated missile launcher: 6-shot capacity

Advantages:

Dynamics are supremely improved over normal Z-95s, and vacuum speed and maneuverability is on par with, and perhaps slightly beyond, the infamous TIE Interceptor, easily faster in an atmosphere. Armament is heavier, and unique “G-Diffuser” antigrav system installed after initial flights produces shields while rolling extremely quickly, deflecting enemy shots and providing a way to cause damage to other craft: Maneuvers not recommended for the inexperienced.

Disadvantages:

Normal shield strength and armor is less than the famous Incom T-65 “X-Wing” fighters. Armament is also slightly weaker than X-wing, although the B-bomb launcher installed in this one does pack a punch. The aircraft depends on its incredible speed and maneuverability (Comparable to Star Fox’s Arwings) to survive in combat, as well as the willingness and skill of the pilot to make brave decisions

Got all that? Good.

It'd've been nice if you'd've told me about your plan earlier, but it works out anyway. What I want to know is why we didn't pick her up on orbital monitors.

They're sneaky cats, I guess. I guess I hadn't really thought about asking you. Sorry!

:iconjim-prower:
Well, If you want one, you'll need to visit a Star Wars Reality and pick up a Z-95 before I can perform the conversion.

((Out of Character: You know, that IS a good idea for a request series...))

Not really a problem, I suppose. W/e, it doesn't really change much.

It's a Skyline. Sweet. Does it have a Gallo 12 or a Gallo 24?
Or an RB26DETT?
Enough ricer racer references... :D

Haha. Very cool though. Nice pic. Nice info.
